Frederick is a doctoral candidate at the Centre for Occupational, Public and Environmental Research in Safety and Health, a research centre at the University of Wollongong School. He is a Mechanical Engineer interested in protecting workers' health and safety. His current research focuses on methods to prevent respirable crystalline silica exposure in the workplace using both quantitative and qualitative research methods
