Tafadzwa Muchaka is an accomplished Occupational Safety and Health specialist with a wealth of experience in promoting workplace safety and health. He currently serves as the Promotions and Training specialist at the National Social Security Authority in Zimbabwe, where he is responsible for providing enforcement and technical advisory services to organizations in the development and implementation of effective and cost-efficient safety and health management systems to prevent injuries, deaths and illnesses. He also sits on the board of assessors for the Amosa Institute of Occupational Safety, Health and Environment (AIOSHE). Tafadzwa has worked as a government OSH Inspector (Occupational Hygiene) for over a decade, inspecting over 2000 facilities and conducting hundreds of training sessions in all economic sectors throughout Zimbabwe. He has also worked in adult education as a part-time lecturer teaching safety, health, and environmental courses for over seven years. Losing his brother to a preventable workplace accident and working with traumatized, injured, ill, invalid, and grossly disabled employees in a social security setup inspired him to take a leading role in protecting worker health. His main goal is to be a respected practicing scientist using evidence-based solutions to influence positive change in worker and community safety and health. He enjoys conducting workplace exposure assessments and training employees at all levels and believes in shaping change one course at a time. He holds a Bsc Degree in Environmental Science and Health, a Master's in Safety, Health, and Environmental Management, and certifications in ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 management systems development and implementation.
