Professional Bio
Dr Sen is basically an Engineer with over 35 years of experience in construction industry, in varieties of roles, majority being in corporate positions. Apart from his regular senior level assignments in OSH function of a major EPC Company with operations in India and abroad, he currently volunteers as the Chair of the Scientific Committee on Occupational Health in Construction Industry under International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH), President of ASSP India Chapter and Chair, Occupational Health & Safety Expert Committee of Indian Chamber of Commerce. As a part of his subject specialization, he obtained a Diploma in Industrial Safety from Regional Labour Institute, Kolkata and also studied Advanced International Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health & Development at National Institute for Working Life, Sweden through a SIDA Scholarship. This was followed by a Post Graduate course on Research in Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion at Karolinska Institutet, Sweden. He also obtained a PG Diplomas in Training & Development, Industrial Pollution & Control as well as on Materials Management. Subsequently he completed his doctoral research at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) Dehradun leading to Ph.D. He is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of Institution of Engineers India (FIE) as well as “Professional Engineer” from Institution of Engineers and Engineering Council of India (ECI). He received “Safety Award” from the Institution of Engineers (India) and Edgar Monsanto Queeny Safety Professional of the Year (2013-2014) award from American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE). He became a "Fellow" of Collegium Ramazzini in 2020 A strong proponent of if Industry-Institution partnership, Dr Sen has guided several students at Masters level and got several publications and conference proceedings in his credit. Being in leadership position, he has been contributing in nurturing and grooming many occupational health and safety professionals engaged in India and abroad.
