Kathy Chrisfield has been the Occupational Health and Safety Team Manager for 14 years at the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (Victorian Branch), the largest branch of largest union in Australia. Kathy has worked in the field of occupational health and safety for over 25 years, in various roles and industries ranging from manufacturing and construction to university lecturing and management system development.
In her current role, Kathy and her team interact directly with ANMF members around issues relating to OHS and workers compensation, and are involved in developing campaigns, and working with external stakeholder forums to influence and develop strategies for the improvement of the health and safety of ANMF members, in particular in relation to the ongoing implementation of Safe Patient Handling standards and Occupational Violence and Aggression, a topic which she has presented on internationally, and of course in more recent times, COVID-19.
