Johnny Dyreborg (MSc, Ph.D.) is a senior researcher at the National Research Centre for the Working Environment, Copenhagen, where he has been a researcher since 1999. He has a background in organizational sociology with post-graduate training in occupational epidemiology. His main research focus is intervention research, in particular investigating what works in the prevention of accidents at the workplace, and reviews of safety interventions. This includes evaluations of the effectiveness of various workplace efforts in preventing accidents at work, such as the introduction of Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS), systematic approaches to accident prevention, and the effectiveness of certified OHSMS. He has been involved in a number of research projects in the construction sector. Recently, he has been researching occupational health and safety among young people on digital platforms. In recent years, he has also been doing research in the research-to-practice field – i.e., how can research knowledge better support health and safety at workplaces?
